Tell us little about how you met, the history, the proposal!
Josh and I met in January 2015 through a mutual friend, from the day we met we were inseparable, by April 2015 we were “Official” and by December 2015 we were engaged.
We went to my work do and after a few too many cheeky wines I was telling everyone we were going to get married. I meant we would get married one day but little did I know that night Josh proposed.
How did you find the wedding planning process? Any tips and tricks you’d like to pass on to others trying to navigate wedding planning and Covid restrictions?
We started planning our wedding in April 2018 for an April 2020 wedding.
It was great having organised vendors etc early but we wanted our wedding too be different from all the others we were seeing online, We would decide on a colour scheme and then we would see weddings on social media all in that colour scheme so we would need to change the scheme again.
March 22nd 2020, My birthday, I went to my final dress fitting, while in my dress it was announced that we were going into lockdown and weddings weren’t allowed. 2 weeks out, all vendors paid and no wedding.
We luckily managed to postpone until December 4th 2020 the anniversary of when we got engaged (5 years). We had to lose a few vendors as we had a few from Melbourne who we were unsure would be able to make it to regional. Then we had to cut back our already small 52 person wedding to 32 people, because of this we made the decision to reduce vendors again as we had a lot less people.
What was most important to you to include in your day? Was there anything personal you wanted to highlight?
We really wanted to celebrate our achievements as a couple and how far we had come, it was important to us that our guests knew they were important to us and we were grateful for them so we incorporated the guests vows into our ceremony.
